Launch of Kenyan Paediatric Dental Association

On 30 November, Professor Raman Bedi launched the Kenyan Association of Paediatric Dentists (KAPD) in Nairobi, which is only the second dental paediatric association in Africa.

The KAPD appointed Professor Bedi as their first and only global ambassador and an honorary member of the association.

At the launch Dr Arthur Kemoli, President of the KAPD and Professor Bedi, who is Chairman of the GCDFund, announced a three year Smiles & Hopes Kenya programme. This will involve hosting all the country's oral health workers each year for a two day residential oral health leadership programme and providing them with US$ one million oral health products over a three year period to help improve the dental health of disadvantaged Kenyan children.
