Dr. Tepirou CHHER

Dr. TepirouChher is the Chief of Oral Health Bureau, Preventive Medicine Department, Ministry of Health, Cambodia. She received her Master Degree on Community Oral Health and Epidemiology at the Universityof Sydney, Australia in 2003. Dr. Tepirou is member of Sub-Technical Working Group for Oral Health, member of the Cambodia Dental Association, member of Cambodia Dental Council, member of Behavior Change Communication Working Group, and member of working group of oral health promotion for school children. She is also part-time lecturer on Community Dentistry at the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, University of Health Science in Phnom Penh. She has been appointed as the Chief Dentist at Prey Veng Hospital (1992-1994), Senior Lecturer for Dental Nurse Training at the Regional Nursing Training Centre in Kampong Cham Province (1994-1999),and part-time Lecturer in Paediatric Dentistry at Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology at the University of Health Sciences, Phnom Penh (1999-2000). Dr.Tepirou’s research interests include the oral health status of Cambodian children, dental fluorosis, fluoride content of water and toothpaste, GIC fissure protection, Fluoride Varnish protection for primary teeth and oral health service provision in poor communities. She has been a leader in conducting national epidemiological surveys of oral health, coordinator of the Global school based Student Health Survey (GSHS). Currently, she is coordinating for the research on Oral Mucosa Lesions and is co-investigator of the Health Outcome Survey of the Fits for School Programme. Dr. Tepirou is recognized at the local and national levels as an expert in the area of training of community health workers, public health leadership, coordinating and leading on health research,health program development, healthcentre design and lecture presentation.
