Dr Ali B. Attaie

Dr Ali B. Attaie, DDS, MPH, FAAPD, is the president and chairman of NYC Management Service Organization (NYC MSO), which runs a network of pediatric dental operations in NYC with over 75,000 annual visits. Dr. Attaie is also the co-founder of hellosmile/LAB, an interdisciplinary group using experience and community based design thinking/approaches to develop innovative solutions to increase access and improve children's oral health outcomes.

Dr. Attaie is an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics and dental medicine at the Mount Sinai Health System/Icahn School of Medicine where he served as the division and pediatric residency director for six years.

During his tenure at Mount Sinai, Dr. Attaie established the nasoalveolar pre-surgical treatment program for for newborns with cleft lip and palate. He also co-founded the Dental Clinic at the Adolescent Health Center, a full time free clinic dedicated to serving at risk youth. He is currently a senior attending at Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital where he leads the pediatric pediatric dental surgery team. Dr. Attaie leads oral health initiatives as a member for the council on clinical quality for Healthfirst, a not-for-profit health insurance company serving 1.2 million New Yorkers. Dr. Attaie has published numerous scientific articles, book chapters and regularly lectures nationally and internationally in the areas of pediatric dentistry, service design, social entrepreneurship, and craniofacial genetics. Dr. Attaie's key interest is leveraging the promise of social enterprise with business approaches towards reaching better population health. Prior to his dental training he was engaged in molecular biology and genetics research in both academia at UCSF and at Incyte Pharmaceuticals as an associate scientist. He completed the executive health management and policy program at Columbia Mailman School of Public Health. He is a graduate of UCSF School of Dentistry and NYU Langone Pediatric Dentistry Residency. He is a board (American Board of Pediatric Dentistry) certified pediatric dentist who is a former board consultant and examiner.
