Smiles & Hopes
Our Smiles & Hopes programme seeks to help the most disadvantaged children in countries around the globe that have suffered from war or poverty.
In many countries around the world children who are left orphaned as a result of illness, disease or war don’t receive the care and attention they need because they have no way of providing for themselves. Smiles and Hopes is our way of channelling financial assistance in order to further local dental provision for children.
Within each target country we work with NGOs and key healthcare providers. NGO selection is facilitated by volunteer dental practitioners who travel to needy communities in order to strengthen the charity’s situational understanding, and report back the specifics of a project’s needs and aid communication between the recipient parties and ourselves.
Some of the ways we do fundraising are:
- producing flyers, brochures and collection boxes for use in UK dental and medical surgeries.
- raising money through this website, in conjunction with email campaigns to our friends and supporters.
The first Smiles & Hopes programmes launched successfully in Cambodia and Tanzania earlier in 2011. We are now actively seeking new causes and plan to expand the programme across the globe.
We are hoping to launch Smiles & Hopes Timor Leste and Smiles & Hopes Afghanistan within the next year.
