Participating in Smiles & Hopes

How it works

We want to make the experience of supporting Smiles & Hopes as easy as possible.

Firstly, you’ll need collection boxes and flyers for your surgery so you can start raising funds and demonstrating your support.

Our collection boxes are clearly branded with the region-specific Smiles & Hopes campaign name, as well as our charity logo. Additionally, each box is created bespoke with your own logo, highlighting the close ties between your organization and the charity.

Once your collection box is full, simply empty it and make the equivalent cash donation to the Global Child Dental Fund via our website at www.gcdfund.org. Alternatively, you can send us a cheque.

To accompany the boxes we will provide you with an informative A5 flyer (example on the next page) which can also be customized with your own surgery logo and unique message of support. The flyer will detail the aims of the project and how we propose to utilize the funds raised.

On the reverse of each flyer patients will be able to provide their details and desired donation. Once filled in, the flyers can be left with the reception team and will be followed up by GCDF staff upon collection.
(Donations of £200 or more will be responded to with a thank-you card directly from the charity, including information regarding any provided funds will be implemented).

We can utilise freelance journalists who, for a nominal fee, will publicise a press release and distribute it to local media outlets. We can also develop the appropriate links on your website. Through these channels, visitors will be able to see your surgery’s support and link directly through to the Smiles & Hopes portal of our website.

We’re always keen to ensure that any support we receive is well recognised. To that end, upon request we are able to design a bespoke plaque for public display in participant surgery waiting rooms. The plaques provide a high-quality, tasteful display of your surgery’s altruistic nature and close partnership with our charity.

How to sign up as a participating surgery:

If you would like to partner with us in the Smiles & Hopes Campaign, then simply send a brief email of intent to: smilesandhopes@gcdfund.org

We’ll take it from there. We’ll establish a point of contact with your surgery and arrange the production and delivery of your bespoke fund-raising materials.

We aim to provide you with everything you need to get up and running within ten working days.
